Korcula is a beautiful medieval town, home of Marco Polo, overlooking the long winding peninsula that stretches north form the mainland. The stunning town is built on a small peninsula and accessible by foot from the marina a short distance to the south. While here visit the 15th century historic saint Marco cathedral in the centre of the town, or look for remaining parts of the city walls on the east that stood as defences to 16th century attacks from neighbouring civilisations.

We visited Korcula eRly in the season and didn’t find it too busy at all. It was a beautiful evening and we wondered around the meandering streets over a couple of hours. We found the outskirts of the city most interesting as they offered the best views. The inner restaurants seemed pleasant but you could almost be anywhere unless you find a table in one of the passage ways.
