Korcula is a beautiful medieval town, home of Marco Polo, overlooking the long winding peninsula that stretches north form the mainland. The stunning town is built on a small peninsula and accessible by foot from the marina a short distance to the south. While here visit the 15th century historic saint Marco cathedral in the centre of the town, or look for remaining parts of the city walls on the east that stood as defences to 16th century attacks from neighbouring civilisations. |

We moored up here originally only intending to stay one night while a strong Jugo wind system blew past but it brought rain the next day so we stayed put a second night. The marina staff are helpful and friendly, and the shower facilities very clean inside. Around the marina there are plenty places to eat, one small and a second larger market. The marina beach bar was not yet open for trade in May. |

Still early into the season but this little town is very pleasant. The Maestral bar/restaurant was welcoming with great views over the bay and marina. We found a small restaurant tucked away near the school with a terrace on the waters edge (Konobo More). |

We visited Korcula eRly in the season and didn’t find it too busy at all. It was a beautiful evening and we wondered around the meandering streets over a couple of hours. We found the outskirts of the city most interesting as they offered the best views. The inner restaurants seemed pleasant but you could almost be anywhere unless you find a table in one of the passage ways. |
